2007 Clues

CLUE #1
I’m always here and also there
In fact, on my course I’m everywhere
You won’t see me till the summons I get.
Then you’ll know me well; a sure bet.

CLUE #2
Around the path mostly out of sight
Down in the depth and up on the height
My domain is normally solitary and quiet
Yet the chatter at times may sound as a riot.

CLUE #3
I welcome the sun before the sky is blue
Dan is with me and he’s dropped a shoe
Not to worry - another meeting will occur
A speedy horse - he’ll catch me for sure.

Explanation of the Clues

An explanation of the clues as interpreted by the maker.

The clues were being given as if the municipal water system was "talking".  The water pipes (course, path) certainly are in the depths for part of the "course" where it would be relatively quiet and solitary and the water would be virtually everywhere in the city.  Then there would be a leap to the heights on three occasions for a meeting with Dan Patch.  There are three water towers in town , one is blue as the sky and would receive the sun before almost anything else and of course Dan Patch is racing on each tower. Also on the tower (at least one) are mobile phone / cell antennas hence the occasional chatter for Dan and the water.

When we need water we will summon it from a tap and of course use it wisely and sparingly.  If you go up to the blue water tower there is a red hydrant and about twenty feet west of that is woods.  On the edge of the woods is a rather large tree stump.  The shoe was tucked in behind the stump.  Congratulations to the "finders" and I hope everyone had a good time searching.

I hope you, your family and friends participated in the hunt, enjoyed getting out into the community , learned something new about our great city and had fun. Remember, the most important and meaningful thing is NOT in the finding, rather it is in the searching!
